R.S Pura Police Book Two House Owners for Renting Premises Without Verification

Jammu, Nov 23 (JKNS): Police at R.S Pura registered an FIR against two house owners for renting out properties without conducting mandatory tenant verification, in clear violation of District Magistrate Jammu’s directives.

In a statement issued here to news agency JKNS, On 23-11-2025 information was received at Police Station R.S Pura that 02 house owners had accommodated tenants in their premises without conducting their mandatory police verification. This act is in clear violation of the directions issued by the District Magistrate Jammu, which mandate all landlords to verify their tenants at the concerned police station before allowing them to stay.

During preliminary enquiry, it was found that the accused, Mehmood Ahmed S/o Mohd Latief R/o Dravtey Tehsil R.S Pura District Jammu and Lekh Raj S/o Shanker Dass R/o Dravtey Tehsil R.S Pura District, had rented out his property i.e. Juggies to multiple tenants without submitting their verification details at the police station.

Accordingly, an FIR has been registered under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Police Station R.S Pura. Further investigation into the matter is underway.

The general public is once again requested to strictly adhere to the tenant verification guidelines issued by the District Magistrate. Non-compliance will invite strict legal action under relevant provisions of law.

District Police Jammu remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the citizens, reads the statement. (JKNS)
