Awareness Camp Held in Srinagar to Promote Self-Employment Schemes for Backward Classes

Srinagar, Nov 22 (JKNS): The Jammu & Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Development Corporation on Saturday organised an Awareness Camp at Sonawar, Srinagar, in collaboration with the National Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation (NBCFDC), New Delhi, aimed at educating the public about Self-Employment Schemes offered at concessional rates of interest.

The event witnessed a large turnout, mostly from Backward Classes communities, along with participants from diverse sections of society. The camp served as a platform to inform the public about the corporation’s schemes, particularly those tailored for the upliftment of Backward Classes Communities.

Officials of the corporation delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the objectives, benefits, and application procedures of the schemes. Deputy General Manager Sh. Mehmood-ul-Haq Gundroo, District Manager Sh. Zulfikar Ali, Accounts Officer Sh. Babar Bashir, other staff members, and Director, Rural Self Employment Training Institute, Sh. Bashir Ahmed Bhat, were present during the event.

Sh. Bashir Ahmed Bhat also shared his insights and encouraged participants to avail themselves of the benefits of the schemes. He expressed hope that more such camps would be organised in the future to ensure wider coverage and inclusion of beneficiaries.

On-the-spot distribution of brochures, pamphlets, and application forms was facilitated during the event. (JKNS)
