Shopian, Nov 21 (JKNS): The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zainapora Shopian has issued a stringent public notice prohibiting the use of loudspeakers, mikes and megaphones by vendors selling fruits and other consumables in moving vehicles across the subdivision, citing rising noise pollution, traffic obstruction and frequent public complaints.

According to the order availablewith news agency JKNS, the administration received repeated representations from local residents and observations were also made during the Block Diwas held on November 19, highlighting how vehicles fitted with loudspeakers were causing excessive noise, congestion and posing accident risks on inner streets, lanes, by-lanes and major roads in Zainapora. The SDM noted that such practices were creating inconvenience and affecting the health and comfort of the general public.
