Srinagar Police Steps Up Security Checks, Inspects Chemical & Fertilizer Shops Across City

Srinagar, Nov 21 (JKNS): Srinagar Police on Friday intensified its security surveillance across the summer capital by conducting detailed inspections of chemical and fertilizer shops falling under multiple police station jurisdictions, officials said.

In a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, As part of heightened security measures, Srinagar Police carried out thorough inspections of chemical and fertilizer shops across the city, covering the jurisdictions of Police Stations Nowhatta, Lal Bazar, Shaheeganj, Chanapora, Rajbagh, RM Bagh, Harwan, Nishat, MR Ganj, Safakadal, Zadibal,Hazratbal, Nigeen, Saddar and others.
The drive aims to prevent the misuse of chemicals and fertilizers for unlawful purposes and to ensure that all dealers comply with safety and documentation regulations.

During the inspections, Police teams verified:

Proper maintenance of stock and sales records

Identity verification procedures for bulk purchasers, Secure storage of materials with potential security implications, Validity of licenses and adherence to regulatory norms, Shop owners were briefed on the increased security measures and urged to remain vigilant, report suspicious transactions, and maintain complete transparency, it reads.

Srinagar Police emphasized that such inspection drives will continue as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and safeguard public safety.

Srinagar Police reiterates its commitment to ensuring safety of the citizens and security of the Nation, reads the statement. (JKNS)
