Jammu, Nov 21 (JKNS): Director, Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Jammu Division Rifat Kohli on Friday said that, “Sportspersons are the true ambassadors of their nation, state, or region, symbolizing peace, prosperity, and harmony through their dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship.”

She was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the 69th National School Games in Table Tennis (U-19 Boys & Girls), organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu & Kashmir, under the aegis of the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), at the Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu.

A total of 34 States, Union Territories, and organizations from across the country are participating in this grand sporting event, being held under the leadership of Ms. Anuradha Gupta, Director General, Youth Services and Sports, J&K.

Ms. Kohli, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, lauded the Department of Youth Services and Sports for its exemplary efforts in successfully organizing the 69th National School Games-2025.

“The medals secured by Jammu and Kashmir in the events hosted by it reflect the department’s efficiency, commitment, and pursuit of excellence,” she remarked.

Prominent among those present were Ms. Vinakshi Koul, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu and Organising Secretary of the event; Ms. Nasreen Khan, Secretary Bharat Scouts and Guides J&K; Mr. Samir Debbarma, SGFI Observer; and Mr. Dhronveer Singh Yadav, Field Officer SGFI.

Earlier, in her welcome address, Ms. Vinakshi Koul highlighted the department’s remarkable achievements, proudly noting that Jammu and Kashmir has so far won an impressive tally of 18 medals earned in Football, Wushu, and Taekwondo (Boys & Girls) in the ongoing 69th National School Games.

Match Results U-19 Girls, Delhi beat Ladakh; NVS trounced IPSC and Ladakh; Rajasthan outplayed Goa; Kerala thrashed Vidya Bharathi; West Bengal drubbed Haryana; Maharashtra beat CISCE; Punjab prevailed over Bihar; Uttarakhand edged past Chhattisgarh; Puducherry outclassed KVS; Chandigarh defeated J&K; Telangana beat UP; Himachal Pradesh trounced Odisha; Tamil Nadu beat Assam; and Andhra Pradesh overpowered Jharkhand.

U-19 Boys, Maharashtra outplayed IBSSO; Telangana outclassed Andhra Pradesh; West Bengal drubbed Delhi; IPSC beat NVS; Haryana defeated Bihar; Himachal Pradesh drubbed Chhattisgarh; Puducherry overcame Ladakh; Uttarakhand beat J&K; Punjab trounced UP; and Chandigarh prevailed over Gujarat. (JKNS)
