The memorandum included a range of issues requiring urgent attention. Key demands featured the formulation of a transfer policy for teachers appointed under the Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) pattern, approval of Master/Head Teacher posts in middle schools, regular review of the curriculum, and timely filling of vacancies for Principals, ZEOs, Headmasters, and Masters.

The delegation further emphasized the need to increase the honorarium of Ayas, Cook-cum-Helpers, and CPWs. Other major demands included regularization of EV teachers absorbed under the Rehbar-e-Taleem scheme, inclusion of regularized ReT teachers in TG-II and TG-III categories, holding of DPCs for pending promotions, and improvement of school infrastructure.

The Committee also urged the Director to ensure Earned Leave/Leave Salary benefits for teachers deployed on winter duties and to prioritize timely supply of textbooks in far-flung and difficult areas. Additionally, the delegation sought immediate release of cooking costs under the PM-POSHAN scheme.

The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere. The Director School Education Kashmir gave patient hearing to all the demands and assured the delegation that all genuine issues of the teaching fraternity would be addressed within a stipulated timeframe.

The Teachers Joint Action Committee assured its full cooperation and expressed hope that long-pending issues would be resolved soon, thereby strengthening the educational system across the region. (JKNS)
