Sopore Police Launch Major Anti-Terror Operation, Multiple JeI-Linked Locations Raided

Sopore, Nov 12 (JKNS): In a significant intelligence-driven operation, Sopore Police conducted raids across more than 30 locations in Sopore, Zaingeer, and Rafiabad, targeting elements linked to the banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) network.

Police Spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads that a district-wide counter terror and separatist ecosystem action, simultaneous raids were conducted at over 25 locations across Sopore, Zaingeer, and Rafiabad areas with the assistance of other security forces, it reads.

The searches were based on credible intelligence inputs indicating attempts by JeI-linked elements to revive their activities under different fronts, it reads.

Statement reads, During the operations, a significant quantity of incriminating material including documents, digital gadgets, and printed content with links to the banned organization was recovered and seized for detailed scrutiny. Several individuals are being questioned to ascertain their involvement in unlawful activities.

According to official sources, these search operations are part of Sopore Police’s ongoing preventive strategy to dismantle the terror separatist ecosystem and disrupt its ideological and logistical networks, it reads.

Sopore Police reaffirmed that such operations are preventive and intelligence-driven, aimed at safeguarding peace and ensuring that no organization or individual is allowed to exploit the local population or disturb the prevailing security environment, it reads.

Sopore Police reiterates its firm resolve to continue operations against all elements linked to proscribed organizations and terror networks, ensuring lasting peace, stability, and security across the district, the statement reads. (JKNS)
