Kupwara, Nov 7 (JKNS): The District Administration Kupwara on Friday organized district level function at Town Hall Kupwara to mark the nationwide commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram the iconic national song that continues to inspire patriotism and unity across the country.
The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, and witnessed the participation of SSP Kupwara, Syed Al-Tahir Gilani; ADC Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmad Khan; ACR, ASP Kupwara, CEO, CPO, besides officers and officials from various line departments. A large number of students from Government Degree Colleges (GDCs) and local schools also enthusiastically participated in the celebration.
The function featured the live streaming of the speech by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on the commemoration of the 150 years of Vande Mataram song.
The historical background and significance of ‘Vande Mataram’ was discussed on this occasion.
A Quiz Competition on ‘Vande Mataram’ and the National Freedom Struggle, mass singing program was held as a part of programme.
Similar events were also organised in sub-divisional, tehsil and block level. (JKNS)
