Anantnag, Nov 7 (JKNS): In a sustained and comprehensive effort to curb the misuse of SIM cards by terrorists, their associates, and criminal networks, Anantnag Police today launched a massive crackdown across the District.
Multiple teams carried out simultaneous inspections of SIM card vendors at various locations to ensure strict adherence to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) guidelines.
The special drive focused on verifying customer documentation, KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures, and vendor licensing compliance to prevent fraudulent issuance of SIM cards.
During the inspections, vendors were sensitized about their legal obligations and were categorically warned that any negligence or violation of regulatory norms would invite stern legal action. (JKNS)
