Srinagar, Nov 2 (JKNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah successfully completed the Kashmir Half Marathon on Sunday, part of the grand Kashmir Marathon 2.0 held in Srinagar.
In a post on X, CM Omar Abdullah, as per news agency JKNS, wrote, “Just completed the Kashmir Half Marathon. I didn’t set a personal best but I did improve on my effort last year.”
He congratulated all participants, saying, “Congratulations to all the runners who completed the full marathon and the half marathon. Well done. #KashmirMarathon.”
Earlier, CM Omar Abdullah along with Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty flagged off the marathon, which saw participation from over 1,500 runners representing various states and Union Territories, and 77 international athletes from different countries.
The marathon, organised by the Department of Tourism, Kashmir, in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, highlighted Kashmir’s growing prominence as a destination for sports, tourism, and peace-building initiatives. (JKNS)
