J&K Govt Prioritizes Infrastructure, No Current Proposal to Upgrade Schools

Srinagar, Oct 31 (JKNS): The government has said there is no immediate proposal to upgrade schools from primary to higher secondary level in Jammu and Kashmir, including those in Trehgam constituency, despite public demand.

Responding to Starred AQ No. 37 by Mir Saifullah and AQ No. 548 by Farooq Ahmad Shah, the Minister Incharge School Education as per news agency JKNS said the department’s current priority is to strengthen existing schools through infrastructure development and staff provision.

The reply added that upgrading schools to the next level requires creation of new infrastructure, additional teaching and non-teaching posts, and financial concurrence from the Finance Department. It further assured that whenever such proposals are taken up, the request for Trehgam will also be examined for consideration. (JKNS)
