Govt Hikes DA for Pensioners, Family Pensioners to 58% from July 1

Srinagar, Oct 28 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for Government Pensioners and Family Pensioners, raising it from 55% to 58% of the basic pension/family pension, effective from July 1, 2025.

According to Government Order, issued by the Finance Department as per news agency JKNS, the decision follows the approval of the Council of Ministers vide Decision No. 110/17/2025 dated October 15, 2025.

The order states that arrears for the period from July to September 2025 will be paid in cash during October 2025, and the revised DA will be reflected in the monthly pension and family pension from October 2025 onwards.

The Finance Department has further clarified that any fraction of a rupee in the DA calculation will be rounded off to the next higher rupee.

Other existing provisions governing the payment of DA on pension/family pension, including those related to re-employment or multiple pensions, will remain unchanged. (JKNS)
