ARTO Anantnag Suspends 15 Licences During District-Wide Road Safety Drive

Anantnag, Oct 25 (JKNS): As part of an ongoing road safety enforcement drive, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Anantnag, Mubashir Jan, conducted extensive vehicle inspections across the district Saturday, resulting in the suspension of 15 driving licences under Section 19 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

According to a statement issued to news agency JKNS, a total of 159 vehicles were checked during the operation. Several vehicles were found violating safety standards, including the use of worn-out tyres, defective brakes, and overloading. Acting strictly under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, the ARTO suspended 15 driving licences for repeated and serious violations affecting road safety.
