Sopore Police Honours Fallen Heroes on Police Commemoration Day 2025

Sopore, Oct 21 (JKNS): Sopore Police on Tuesday observed Police Commemoration Day 2025 with solemnity and honour at District Police Lines Sopore, paying rich tributes to the brave police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.

The event was attended by MLA Sopore, senior officers of the Army and CRPF, families of police martyrs, members of civil society, and officers from Police District Sopore, including Additional SP, SDPOs, DySP Ops, and SHOs.

SSP Sopore Iftikhar Talib (JKPS) laid a floral wreath and led the ceremony, during which two minutes of silence were observed in memory of the martyrs. Contingents of J&K Police, CRPF, and JKAP presented a silent parade to the beats of the Pipe Band, followed by a ceremonial salute.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Talib said, “We salute the courage, valour, and supreme sacrifices of our martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Their legacy continues to inspire every member of the police force to serve with dedication and honour.”

During the event, the names of police and CAPF martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the past year were read out. Families of the martyrs were felicitated, and SSP Sopore personally interacted with them, assuring redressal of their concerns.

Sopore Police reaffirmed its commitment to uphold peace, justice, and public service, drawing inspiration from the sacrifices of its brave heroes. (JKNS)
