SMC Commissioner Reviews Progress of Srinagar’s NCAP Initiatives

Srinagar, Oct 18 (JKNS):In a continued effort to strengthen air quality management in the city, Mr. Faz Lul Haseeb (IAS), Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), on Saturday conducted a comprehensive review of all ongoing projects under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP).

The review meeting, held at the SMC Headquarters, focused on the status, progress, and timelines of various interventions aimed at mitigating air pollution and improving environmental sustainability across Srinagar.

Senior officers from different departments and executing agencies briefed the Commissioner on the current implementation status of NCAP projects, including green space enhancement, mechanical road sweeping, dust suppression measures, installation of air quality monitoring systems, and public awareness campaigns.

The Commissioner emphasized strict adherence to project timelines and directed concerned officers to ensure quality execution of all works. He further underscored the importance of inter-departmental coordination to achieve measurable improvements in the city’s air quality index.

Commissioner reiterated SMC’s commitment to implementing the NCAP roadmap effectively to make Srinagar cleaner, greener, and healthier for its citizens. (JKNS)
