Congress Resumes Chain Hunger Strike, Renews Demand for J&K Statehood

Srinagar, Oct 19 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Saturday resumed District wise Chain hunger strike under Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq programme to reiterate Party’s demand for restoration of statehood to J&K.

District Congress Committee Baramulla observed a hunger strike at Srinagar Party headquarter and reiterated Party’s demand for restoration of Statehood to J&K.

J&K Pradesh Congress Committee President Tariq Hameed Karra alongwith Legislators, Senior Congress Leaders including former Minister Taj Mohi Ud Din joined the hunger strike and vowed to continue fighting for restoration of Statehood.

He said Hamari Riayasat Hamara Haq is Congress Party’s indigenous movement, it shall continue till the Centre restores the dignity and honour of erstwhile princely State of J&K.

Karra reiterated the Party’s demand for Statehood restoration and urged the Centre to respect the urges and aspirations of people of J&K. People are feeling neglected in absence of Statehood, as their rights have been denied and compromised. We will not rest till the Statehood is restored, he said.

President Baramulla Mir Iqbal led the District Committee to register their hunger strike while Former Minister Taj Mohi Ud Din, Legislators Nizam Ud Din Bhat, Irfan Hafez Lone, Senior Leader Nissar Mandoo, Fayaz Ahmad Mir, Suhail Bukhari, Media Coordinator Dr.Audil Farooq Mir(Lasjan) District Presidents Irfan Naqib, Umer Jaan, Sheikh Aijaz, Er.Muzaffar Dar and others Senior leaders participated and vowed to further intensify their fight for Statehood. (JKNS)
