Kulgam, Oct 16 (JKNS): In its ongoing drive against drug peddling, Kulgam Police have arrested one more person and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
Police Spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNSA Police party from Police station Qaimoh established Naka checking and frisking of suspicious persons/vehicles at Khudwani ByPass. During checking one person namely, Talib Hussain Sheikh son of Khurshid Hussain Sheikh resident of KG Raina, Wanpoh carrying a bag was found roaming in suspicious condition was intercepted.
After search, 30 grams of Charas and 500 grams of grinded Cannabis like contraband substances were recovered from his possession. He was arrested on spot, it reads.
Regarding the incident, Case with FIR No. 79/2025 U/S 8/20 of NDPS Act stands registered in the Police Station Qaimoh and investigation is in progress, it reads.
It is pertinent to mention that such drug peddlers are hellbent on destroying the life of common people particularly the young generation by spreading the drugs in the society, it reads.
The general public is once again requested to cooperate with the kulgam police in the crusade against drug menace in the district, reads the statement. (JKNS)
