Shopian Administration Accelerates Rural Development Projects, Focus on Transparency and Quality Execution

bSrinagar, Oct 15 (JKNS): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta on Wednesday chaired a review meeting to assess the status and progress of works being executed under the Rural Development Department (RDD) sector as part of the District Capex Budget, 2025-26.

During the meeting, DC was informed that under the current financial year, a total of 1565 works have been approved in the RDD sector across different blocks of the district.

Out of these, 250 works have been completed so far while the execution of the rest of works is ongoing.

DC emphasized the need to accelerate the pace of execution so that all approved works are completed within the stipulated time frame keeping in view the approaching winter season.

Deputy Commissioner also directed concerned to maintain transparency, quality control and regular monitoring through field inspections with corresponding booking of expenditure on account of completed works.

While reviewing the block-wise status,DC called upon the officers to prioritize public utility and community-oriented projects that directly benefit rural populations.

He stressed on judicious utilization of funds under the District Capex and underlined the importance of coordination for achieving set targets, both in physical and financial aspects.

Frontline engineering/RDD staff were instructed to improve the work performance and ensure cent percent quality execution of approved plan of activities during the year.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone, ACD, Muzaffar Ahmad, DSEO, ExEn, REW, AEEs, JEs, Panchayat Secretaries and other officials of the RDD. (JKNS)
