Srinagar Police Engages With Youth By Organizing Educational Visit Of School and College Students to Police Stations

Srinagar, Oct 9 (JKNS): As part of its continued community engagement drive, Srinagar Police on Thursday organized educational visits for school and college students to multiple police stations across the district to help them understand police functioning and promote awareness among youth.

In a statement issued here to news agency JKNS, As part of its ongoing public outreach and awareness campaign, Srinagar Police organized a guided visit of school and college students to various Police Stations across the district.

The initiative aimed to familiarize the students with the functioning of Police stations and to build better understanding between the police and the public, especially the youth, it reads.

These visits were conducted in Police Stations Shaheedganj, Batmaloo, Karannagar, Zadibal, Kothibagh, Harwan, Nowgam and Panthachowk, where the concerned SHOs facilitated a guided tour of the students within the Police Stations highlighting the significance of grassroot policing, it reads.

During the visit, the students were briefed about the registration of FIRs, maintenance of records, investigation procedures, and the role of CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems) in modern policing, it reads.

Officers also highlighted the Police department’s community policing initiatives and emphasized the importance of cyber awareness and Police-Public cooperation in maintaining peace and order in society, it reads.

The students took keen interest in the sessions and actively interacted with the officers to understand different aspects of Policing.

The initiative was well-received and is part of Srinagar Police’s continued efforts to promote transparency, awareness, and trust among the citizens, reads the statement. (JKNS)
