Srinagar, Oct 7 (JKNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Chouhan for the release of the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.

In a post on X, Office of J&K LG as per news agency JKNS wrote, “I am extremely grateful to Hon’ble PM Shri @Narendramodi Ji and Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri @ChouhanShivraj Ji for advance release of 21st instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme for the farmers of J&K UT.”

Post added that approximately Rs 171 crore will be directly transferred into the bank accounts of around 8.55 lakh eligible farmers across Jammu and Kashmir today. The financial assistance is aimed at helping farmers sustain their livelihoods and quickly resume agricultural activities following recent floods.

LG Sinha reaffirmed that the Government of India remains committed to providing all possible assistance to mitigate the effects of the worst floods in several decades and ensure stability for the affected population. (JKNS
