Jmu-Sgr Highway Closed due to Landslides, Mughal, SSG Roads Shut Due to Snow

Srinagar, Oct 7 (JKNS): The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) has been closed for vehicular traffic following landslides, shooting stones, and mudslides at several locations, traffic officials said on Tuesday morning.

Traffoc department in a statement as per news agency JKNS said that the Mughal Road, SSG Road, and Sinthan Top Road also remain closed due to heavy snow accumulation.

Authorities have advised commuters not to travel on these routes until clearance operations are completed and the roads are fully restored.

The Traffic Department urged people not to pay heed to rumors and instead verify the latest road status through official sources — the Traffic Police Twitter handle @Traffic_hqrs, Facebook page “Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police,” or by contacting Traffic Control Units (TCUs) at Jammu (0191-2459048, 0191-2740550, 9419147732, 103), Srinagar (0194-2450022, 2485396, 18001807091, 103), and Ramban (9419993745, 1800-180-7043).
