SRINAGAR: District Judiciary Srinagar, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, today organized a special cleanliness drive within the premises of the District Court Srinagar under the banner of the nationwide campaign “Swachhata Hi Seva”.
The initiative was undertaken as part of the nationwide efforts to spread the message of cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental consciousness, and to reaffirm building a clean and responsible society.
The programme not only focused on maintaining the sanctity of the court premises but also sought to inspire a culture of collective responsibility among those present, reminding all that the principles of justice are best upheld in an environment of discipline, orderliness, and cleanliness.
The drive was held under the chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Srinagar, Tasleem Arief and was conducted under the supervision of Sub-Judge/Secretary, DLSA Srinagar, Sajad Ur Rehman.
On this occasion, Tasleem Arief symbolically marked the importance of environmental protection by planting a sapling within the premises of the District Court Srinagar. The plantation ceremony was carried out in the presence of Sub-Judge/Secretary, DLSA Srinagar, Chief Administrative Officer, District Court Srinagar, Rubina Akhter, officials, Legal Aid Defense Counsels, Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Srinagar, and the dedicated safai karamcharis who play a vital role in ensuring cleanliness on a daily basis.
