BARAMULLA: The Inter-Division Union Territory Level Under-17 Boys Football Competition concluded today at the iconic Showkat Ali Stadium, Khawaja Bagh, Baramulla, with Kashmir Province emerging as the undisputed champions.
The prestigious event was organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K under the dynamic chairmanship of Anuradha Gupta, Director General YSS J&K, supervised by Mohammad Rashid Kohli, Joint Director YSS Kashmir Province, and hosted by the District Youth Services and Sports Office, Baramulla.
The much-anticipated tournament featured a thrilling five-match series between the football teams of Jammu Province and Kashmir Province. Showcasing remarkable talent, determination, and teamwork, Kashmir Province won all five encounters, asserting their dominance and sealing their place as champions.
Speaking on the sidelines, DYSSO Baramulla Zahoor Ahmad Wani expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Director General YSS J&K for granting Baramulla the honour of hosting such a high-level competition. He extended appreciation to the players, coaches, selectors, and supporting staff for their tireless efforts and encouraged the budding footballers to continue striving for excellence.
The competition also served as an important platform for talent identification, as the outstanding performers from the tournament will now represent Jammu & Kashmir at the National Level Football Championship this year.
With the successful conclusion of the boys’ event, Baramulla is set to remain in the football spotlight. The Inter-Division UT Level Under-19 Girls Football Competition is scheduled to kick off on October 2 at the same venue, promising yet another spectacle of skill, passion, and sportsmanship.
