A total of 09 teams from across the region are set to participate, showcasing the growing interest and competitive spirit in the sport among the youth of Jammu & Kashmir.

The championship is named in honour of Late General Bipin Rawat, India’s first Chief of Defence Staff, whose legacy of leadership, discipline and national integration continues to inspire future generations.

The Vajr Fencing Node, inaugurated earlier this year under the Khelo India movement and supported by CSR India, has rapidly emerged as a hub for fencing talent in the region. Following the successful conduct of its first official fencing camp and district-level tournament in July-August 2025, this upcoming championship reflects the centre’s growing role in shaping young athletes.

The event aims to promote discipline, confidence, resilience and sportsmanship, while providing young fencers a platform to hone their skills and compete at higher level.

Media personnel, sports enthusiasts and local supporters are cordially invited to attend the event and witness the spirit of youth empowerment and regional pride in action. (JKNS)
