BUDGAM: District Information Centre Budgam, in collaboration with the Cultural Unit Kashmir of the Department of Information & Public Relations J&K, and the Chief Education Officer Budgam today organized a cultural programme under the ongoing Sewa Parv theme.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of school children from various institutions across the district, alongside artists from the Cultural Unit Kashmir.
Through a series of thought-provoking performances including skits, songs, and cultural items, the participants highlighted various pressing social issues such as the menace of drug abuse, dowry system, importance of girl education, cleanliness under Swachhta Abhiyan, and several other themes of social importance.
Speaking on the occasion, District Information Officer Budgam, Erum Aziz Khan, underlined the significance of Sewa Parv and the need for every citizen to play a constructive role in society. She said that Sewa Parv is not just a campaign but a collective responsibility, where people must selflessly come forward and contribute towards the betterment of the community. She stressed that activities focusing on awareness, cleanliness, education, and social harmony uplift society at large.
She also highlighted various social security schemes launched by the Government, urging school children to become ambassadors of change and to actively participate in awareness programmes under Sewa Parv. She emphasized that young minds, when nurtured with the values of service and responsibility, can play a pivotal role in shaping a progressive and drug-free society.
The programme was highly appreciated by the audience as it effectively combined art, culture, and social awareness to spread the message of service, responsibility, and community well-being in line with the objectives of Sewa Parv.
