Tarun Chugh Slams NC, PDP for Supporting Yasin Malik, Calls It Hypocrisy

Srinagar, Sept 23 (JKNS): Bhartiya Janta Party National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today said that the new-found soft stance of the National Conference and the PDP on JKLF supreme Yasin Malik reflects their hypocrisy in lending support to a hardcore terrorist and anti-national.

Reacting strongly to the remarks of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that Yasin Malik has given up violence and terrorism, Chugh as per news agency JKNS said, it is “complete treachery to the nation.”

He said that Abdullah should remember that Yasin became a dreaded terrorist when his father Farooq Abdullah was the Chief Minister and was involved in numerous terrorist activities, including the abduction of Rubaiya Sayeed.

“Now suddenly Omar Abdullah is condoning all terrorist activities of Yasin Malik,” Chugh said.

Chugh also took strong exception to Mehbooba Mufti’s statement seeking clemency for Yasin Malik. He said, “Rubaiya Sayeed’s abduction was a traumatic event for Kashmir, and today, the people of Kashmir demand strict action against Yasin Malik. Mehbooba Mufti’s plea for mercy for such a heinous criminal is not only a reflection of her political desperation but also shows her disconnect from the pain and suffering of Kashmir’s daughters.”

Chugh said such statements highlight the National Conference’s history of supporting terrorists like Syed Salahuddin, who was instrumental in militancy in Jammu and Kashmir. “It’s ironic that Omar Abdullah, whose party has a history of backing terrorists, is now seeking mercy for them,” he added.

He further said, “The stance of the NC and the PDP is a threat to national security and demonstrates their sympathies towards terrorism. It’s essential to condemn such statements and take strict action against those who promote terrorism.”

Chugh demanded that the government take stringent action against terrorists like Yasin Malik and ensure justice for Rubaiya Sayeed and her family. “It’s imperative to hold accountable those who have brought suffering to the people of Kashmir,” he said. (JKNS)
