Srinagar, Sep 22 (JKNS): National Conference President and former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Monday said that governing Jammu and Kashmir under the prevailing conditions is no less than “walking on the edge of a sword,” though administration must carry on.

Speaking to reporters, Abdullah, as per news agency JKNS, reiterated that restoration of statehood is the foremost demand of the people. “Statehood is a crucial issue, and the people of Jammu and Kashmir look forward to its restoration. We must keep pressing New Delhi on this,” he said.

On being asked about separatist leader Yasin Malik, Abdullah said the matter rests with the court. He also termed the PSA against Doda MLA Mehraj Malik as unjustified, though disapproved of the language used by the legislator.

“The PSA is not right, but his words were wrong. The authority in such matters lies with the Lieutenant Governor,” he said. (KNC)
