Additional trucks have also been arranged for direct transportation to Delhi’s Azadpur Mandi, as well as to Chandigarh, Punjab, and Haryana, details stated.

The initiative comes in view of transportation difficulties triggered by frequent closures of the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway. Authorities said the step has been taken to ensure smooth evacuation of horticultural produce and to safeguard the interests of fruit growers.

President of Sopore Fruit Mandi, Fayaz Ahmad Malik, along with SRTC officials, AD Food Baramulla and ARTO Baramulla, supervised the arrangements on ground, ensuring that the consignments were dispatched without delays.

Fruit Mandi President and other growers welcomed the move, “This is a great initiative and we welcome this initiative, and they demand we need more trucks for transportation, he said.” (JKNS)
