Div Com attends Students Painting workshop -Viksit Bharat Ke Rang, Kala Ke Sang

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 17: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today attended Viksit Bharat Ke Rang, Kala Ke Sang- a Students Painting workshop organized by Divisional Administration in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, Regional Centre, Jammu and Kashmir here at Conventional Centre.
The one-day workshop was organized as part of Sewa Parv celebrations centered on the theme “Vision of Viksit Bharat”.
Students from different colleges and schools painted their ideas and aspirations for developed India. The creative artworks and paintings highlighted different dimensions of progress and nation-building.
The Divisional Commissioner interacted with the participants and lauded their paintings and artwork. He listened to the vision and ideas painted by the students in their colorful paintings.
He said that the Sewa Parv is being organised by all departments including Health, Rural Development from 17 September to 02 October 2025 featuring art and culture activities, cleanliness and plantation drives, health and blood donation camps, social outreach programmes and awareness campaigns on government Schemes.
More than one thousand students participated in the event. They also extended their heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the Prime Minister on his birthday. The workshop collectively emphasized the guiding principles of public service, cultural pride and youth responsibility in realizing the vision of a developed India.
The paintings made by the students reflected the role of quality education, research and technological advancement as essential pillars of development. Several artworks also focused on comprehensive healthcare, sustainable growth, clean rivers and green landscapes, reflecting students’ early concern and vision for a healthy and balanced environment.
Youth participation strongly underlined the importance of gender equality, women-led growth and the pivotal role of young leaders in building the future of the nation. At the same time, the students’ works placed a strong emphasis on India’s traditions, cultural wealth and crafts as integral elements of a modern and self-reliant Viksit Bharat.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu lauded the wholehearted participation of students and observed that such initiatives nurture respect for heritage while instilling a sense of responsibility towards nation-building.
Regional Director, IGNCA Regional Centre Jammu & Kashmir, Ms Shruti Awasthi, highlighted the significant role of culture and heritage in shaping the vision of Viksit Bharat and reaffirmed IGNCA’s active role in advancing this initiative.
Officials from Divisional Commissioner office, District administration, Lecturers, Teachers, staff and students were present.
