The first day of the 2025 edition of the annual technology festival, TechKnow 2025, was held at Delhi Public School Srinagar today. Organized by CyberCrew, the school’s technology club, the festival has, over the years, grown into Jammu and Kashmir’s largest platform for school students to engage in hands-on technological learning.

With participation from more than thirty schools across the Valley, the event drew an enthusiastic response as students immersed themselves in nine diverse workshops. These included Artificial Intelligence, App Development, Robotics, Video Editing, Programming Essentials, Web Development, Game Development, Graphic Design, and Digital Marketing. Sessions were conducted by student instructors, offering a unique peer-to-peer learning experience that has become a hallmark of TechKnow.

The day commenced with a formal opening ceremony hosted by CyberCrew members and featured an introduction to the workshop heads. Over 350 students took part in the first day’s workshops, engaging with both foundational and advanced concepts while working collaboratively with their peers.

TechKnow 2025 reflects the school’s continuing commitment to promoting innovation, creativity, and leadership. By giving students both the responsibility of teaching and the opportunity to learn, the festival nurtures not only technical skills but also confidence and collaboration.

This year’s edition of TechKnow is supported by Encash Mahindra, HK Cement, Zum Zum Milk Products, Spark Creations, CNS Infotel, JK Startup 360, Greater Kashmir, Kashmir Uzma, and Red FM, whose contributions have been instrumental in making the festival possible and sustaining its legacy of excellence.

At the close of Day One, Principal Shafaq Afshan remarked, “DPS Srinagar has always been at the forefront of hosting initiatives that nurture and sharpen student talent across diverse domains. TechKnow stands as living proof of this commitment—an effort we have carefully fostered over the years. It fills us with pride to see our students now reaching a stage where they can themselves step into the role of mentors and instructors.”

Sharing his reflections on the occasion, Chairman Mr. Vijay Dhar stated, “For us at DPS Srinagar, the motto ‘Service before self’ has never been symbolic rhetoric—it is a pledge we live by. TechKnow’s journey over the years exemplifies our dedication to making this motto a lived reality, turning the valley into a hub of creativity and skill. Nothing gives me greater joy than witnessing this tradition being carried forward with undiminished passion. Heartfelt congratulations to Cyber Crew and to all the participants who have made this possible.”

A teacher from J&K Police Public School stated, “The event was well-organised and coordinated. Students found the workshops useful and interesting. They learnt a lot, and were content at the end of day. We are looking forward to day two!”

A student from Government Middle School Ferozpura said, “We were warmly welcomed. I had an amazing time. I learnt a lot about A.I. modules and Python.”

The festival will continue tomorrow with another full day of workshops, followed by the grand closing ceremony on 15 September at DPS Srinagar.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah shall be the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony tomorrow. Moreover, Commissioner Secretary of the Commerce and Industries Department of J&K, IPS Vikramjit Singh shall be the guest of honour
