CM Omar Abdullah Visits Flood-Hit Shalina, Reviews Situation on Ground

Srinagar, Sep 4 (JKNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday visited Shalina, one of the flood-affected areas in Kashmir, to take stock of the situation and assess relief measures on the ground.

Details available with news agency JKNS, Omar Abdullah, who arrived from Delhi, landed at Srinagar airport and drove directly to the affected site.

During the visit, the Chief Minister interacted with officers and received a detailed briefing about the extent of the damage, rescue operations, and relief efforts underway.

He was apprised about the steps taken to safeguard vulnerable areas and assist families displaced by the floods.

Omar Abdullah instructed officials to ensure swift evacuation of residents from at-risk zones and provide timely relief, medical aid, and shelter to those affected.

He emphasised close coordination among departments to mitigate further risks and ensure public safety.

He was later joined by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, Advisor to CM Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Lal Chowk Ahsan Pardesi, along with senior divisional administration officers and police officials. (JKNS)
