Advocate Javed Hubi, Senior Leader of the Awami Ittehad Party, has come down heavily on both the UT Government and UT Administration for shamefully ignoring the long-pending acquisition of land for the District Court Complex Budgam, which has been hanging in limbo since 2012.

He said it is an utter disgrace that in more than a decade, governments at every level have failed to provide Budgam with even the basic judicial infrastructure.

“For 13 years, files have been pushed from one table to another, while the people of Budgam have been treated like second-class citizens. This is nothing less than institutional betrayal,” he remarked.

Advocate Javed Hubi accused successive regimes of adopting a step-motherly, discriminatory attitude towards Budgam, deliberately keeping the district deprived while other districts have seen rapid development of court complexes and public institutions.

“Why is Budgam always pushed to the corner? Why are the genuine rights of our people trampled upon year after year?” he questioned.
He further said that denial of proper judicial infrastructure is denial of justice itself.

The litigants, advocates, and common citizens continue to suffer in humiliating conditions, while those in power make hollow speeches about rule of law and good governance.

The Awami Ittehad Party leader warned that if the land acquisition is not expedited and construction work on the District Court Complex Budgam is not started immediately, the party will launch a people’s agitation and expose the hollow claims of the government at every platform.

“Budgam will not remain silent anymore. Justice delayed is justice denied and for Budgam, justice has been denied deliberately for far too long,” Advocate Javed Hubi asserted.
