Srinagar, Aug 25 (JKNS): Authorities in Dharmari subdivision imposed restrictions on vehicular movement during night hours in view of the ongoing monsoon rains and rising road safety concerns.

In an order issued by Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) as per news agency JKNS, all kinds of vehicles, including private and public transport, have been barred from plying on Reasi–Arnas–Mahore (RAM) road between 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM daily till September 22, 2025.

The order cites incessant rains causing landslides, erosion of road surfaces, water logging, and multiple accidents that have already claimed three lives and left several injured this month alone. It notes that night-time vehicle movement poses a “significant and imminent threat to public safety.”

However, the restrictions will not apply to emergency vehicles such as ambulances, fire tenders, or law enforcement on duty. Vehicles used for government relief and restoration works are also exempted.

The SDPO Arnas has been directed to enforce strict compliance with necessary checkpoints and legal action against violators under law.

The order shall remain in force till 6:00 AM on September 22, 2025, unless withdrawn earlier. (JKNS)
