Details available with news agency JKNS, Chief Minister was given a detailed account of the damage by Indian Army personnel stationed in the area. To better understand the scale of destruction, Omar Abdullah also used a Virtual Reality (VR) headset to visualise the impact across the affected zones.

The CM was accompanied by senior officers and his advisor, who stressed on the need for swift relief measures and close coordination between the administration, Army and disaster response teams.

Omar Abdullah instructed the administration to accelerate rehabilitation work and ensure immediate relief reaches the affected households.

Officials stated that search and rescue operations by Army, police and SDRF are still underway in the worst-hit areas. Meanwhile, the local administration has set up temporary shelters and is providing medical facilities to those in need. (JKNS)
