PATTAN: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, conducted surprise inspection of Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Pattan today to review the healthcare facilities available there for the general public.
Advisor to Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani also accompanied the Minister during the surprise inspection.
During the inspection, the Minister minutely assessed different sections of the hospital including OPD, Casualty ward and other units. She also inspected the drug store, pharmacy and other critical sections of the hospital.
Interacting with the doctors and other staff, the Minister took detailed inputs from them about the facilities available and the scope for uplifting the necessary facilities. She directed them to provide 24×7 healthcare services to public at the hospital and the duty roster should be duly followed so that there is no inconvenience to public.
During the visit, the Minister also engaged with the locals, patients and their attendants during the inspection to gather first-hand insights about the services available at the hospital.
While interacting with the public, the Minister said that this inspection is not merely a formality but it is a commitment of government to transparency, accountability and patient-centric service. “Healthcare is a fundamental right and every patient deserves timely, dignified and effective treatment. This Government will address any lapses swiftly at the hospital”, she said.
The Minister further instructed the hospital administration to act on identified deficiencies, ensure proper maintenance of duty rosters and uphold a 24×7 service readiness at the hospital for general public.
