BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, on Wednesday chaired the District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) meeting to scrutinize applications received under the Jammu & Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP).
Out of 39 applications seeking financial assistance for self-employment initiatives, 20 were approved after detailed examination. Eleven applicants remained absent, five were disqualified due to pending formalities, and three cases were referred back for review to fulfill the necessary requirements.
The meeting was informed that the approved applicants will soon receive financial support to establish their entrepreneurial ventures, aimed at boosting local employment and contributing to the district’s economic growth.
Later, DC also chaired the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) meeting under Mission YUVA, during which 169 entrepreneurship-related cases were sanctioned for financial assistance.
Expressing concern over the casual handling of certain Mission YUVA cases, DC issued strict directions to concerned officers to ensure proper verification and meticulous scrutiny of applications to avoid such lapses in the future.
With regard to cases pertaining to agriculture and allied sectors, it was decided that such cases shall be routed through the concerned district offices, which will only assess the feasibility of the projects at their level and return the files within two days.
The meetings were attended by CPO Bandipora, District KVIB Officer, Assistant Director Employment, LDM Bandipora, and other officials.
