Srinagar, Aug 13 (JKNS): Senior BJP Leader and DDC Member, Er. Aijaz Hussain, has raised strong objections to the reported supply of rotten and unhygienic meat from outside Jammu & Kashmir, urging the Government to act with full transparency and urgency.

He demanded that the authorities release a detailed list of all persons and suppliers involved, along with the names of hotels and restaurants that were using such meat. “It is equally important to acknowledge that some good restaurants may not have used this meat at all. A transparent and honest report must be published to clearly inform the public and protect the reputation of genuine businesses,” he said.

Er. Aijaz Hussain stressed that the problem is not confined to meat alone. “There are other consumable items—milk, cooking oil, spices, juices—and above all, duplicate medicines, which must be checked immediately. This is a matter of public health and safety, and the Government must ensure strict monitoring and swift action,” he stated.

Calling for strong deterrence, he urged exemplary punishment for all those involved in the scandal. “Those who play with people’s health must face the harshest legal consequences to ensure such acts are never repeated,” he asserted.

Expressing disappointment at the lack of decisive measures, Er. Aijaz Hussain said, “The time has given the Government the best possible chance to rise to the satisfaction of the people. Yet no concrete action has been taken. I urge the authorities to act now with full transparency, accountability, and commitment to public safety.” (JKNS)
