Srinagar : The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Srinagar held a three-day orientation programme to welcome its new batch of undergraduate design students, offering them a comprehensive introduction to campus life, academic resources, and the vibrant world of fashion and design.
Prof. (Dr.) Monika Gupta, Director of NIFT Srinagar, said, “We are delighted to welcome a fresh batch of bright minds to NIFT Srinagar. The orientation program is our first step in building their creative journey and ensuring they feel at home in this inspiring environment.”
Our aim is to shape future professionals who can challenge perspectives and drive meaningful change through design and to ensure holistic development and emotional well-being being of our students further added Prof. (Dr.) Monika.
The programme aimed to familiarize students with NIFT’s academic environment, institutional values, support systems, and student-driven initiatives.
Over the course of the orientation, students were introduced to various aspects of academic and campus life — including studio-based learning, craft cluster initiatives, student clubs, industry engagement opportunities, and interaction with different departments and support staff.
The sessions also included overviews of workshops, group projects, fieldwork, and industry visits.
The orientation program culminated with a City tour helping students experience the rich cultural and natural beauty of Kashmir.
