Unfit School Buses Will Be Seized, Strict Action to Follow: ARTO Anantnag

Anantnag, July 29 (JKNS): Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Anantnag, Mubashir Jaan, on Tuesday conducted a special enforcement drive targeting school transport vehicles to ensure compliance with safety norms.

Speaking to news agency JKNS, ARTO Mubashir Jaan said that many school vehicles were found with worn-out seats and in poor condition, posing a risk to students. He stressed that all school vehicles must strictly adhere to AIS 063 safety protocols designed for passenger and school transport.

“Only fit vehicles shall be allowed on the roads. Any unfit vehicles found operating will be seized and penalised strictly as per the Motor Vehicles Act,” Jaan said.

He further stated that such drives will continue across the district to ensure the safety and comfort of school-going children. (JKNS)
