Sopore, July 24 (JKNS): An awareness programme on income tax was organised by the Income Tax Department Srinagar at Dak Bungalow Sopore on Thursday, aimed at sensitising people about the importance of timely tax payment and procedures involved.
Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Srinagar, Sh. Vikram Sahay, was the chief guest on the occasion. Other senior officers present included Sh. Farhat Khan, Commissioner of Income Tax Appeals Srinagar, Dr. Ruveda Salam, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax Srinagar, Sh. Shakil Ahmad Ganie, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax Circle Srinagar, Sh. Vimal Madan, Income Tax Officer, Sh. Gulzar Ahmad Malik, Income Tax Officer, Sh. Moin Siddiqui, and Sh. Abhineet Jhorar, Income Tax Officer.
ADC Sopore S.A. Raina, Traders Federation Sopore President Haji Mohd Ashraf Ganie, and several other dignitaries also attended the programme. Addressing the gathering, the officers stressed the importance of paying income tax on time, explaining the simple procedures for filing and highlighting the consequences of delays. They said such awareness programmes will continue in the future to ensure people remain informed and compliant. (JKNS)
