Poonch, July 18 (JKNS): Multiple houses and a madrasa sustained damage in Sanghiote area of Gursai sector in Poonch district following heavy overnight rains on July 17–18, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS that at least five structures, including residential houses and a local madrasa, were partially damaged due to the downpour.
The affected structures include the houses of Mohd Din (s/o Abdul Karim), Mukhtiar Hussain (s/o Mohd Hussain), Mohd Azam (s/o Villagat Hussain), and Mohd Nasib Khan (s/o Fateh Mohd), they said.
Additionally, Faizan-e-Mustafa Madrasa, run by Hafiz Tariq Jameel (s/o Mohd Din), also suffered structural damage due to the rain.
Local police and civilian volunteers acted swiftly and shifted all residents and madrasa students to safer nearby houses without any reported injuries. (JKNS)
