BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, conducted an extensive tour of the Gurez Sub-Division on Thursday to review ongoing developmental works and assess overall progress in the region.

During the visit, DC chaired a meeting with sub-divisional officers and other concerned officials to take a sector-wise review of the developmental initiatives currently under implementation.

On the occasion, SDM Gurez briefed the meeting on the status of various projects and shared updates on the progress made so far. DC emphasized the importance of timely execution and accountability in delivering public services.

It is worth mentioning that the visit comes in the backdrop of district Bandipora securing 2nd rank in the North Zone under NITI Aayog’s Aspirational Block Programme (ABP). Tulail Block, identified as the focal block for the initiative, has shown commendable progress across multiple key development indicators, ranking 2nd in Jammu & Kashmir for the quarter ending March 2025 (FY 2024–25).

On the occasion, a threadbare discussion was held on the weak indicators of Aspirational Block Tulail, with particular focus on the health and education sectors. DC called for renewed efforts to improve progress in these critical areas. He also sought proposals from each department outlining actionable measures to address the gaps and improve overall performance.

While reviewing the performance under the ABP, DC underscored the need for intensified and coordinated efforts from all departments. He directed concerned officers to ensure 100% saturation across all indicators.

Among others, the meeting was attended by CPO Bandipora, Mohammad Maqbool and officers from other concerned departments.
