Srinagar, July 5:Marking the 10th of Muharram—Youm-e-Ashura, a day of deep mourning and remembrance—the BJP Lal Chowk Constituency extended its humanitarian outreach by organising a Sabeel-e-Imam Hussain (AS) and free medical camp in the Shia-populated area of Balhama, Srinagar. The effort, led by Senior BJP Leader and DDC Member Er. Aijaz Hussain, was part of the party’s continuous public service initiative during the sacred days of Muharram.
Scores of mourners partaking in the Ashura procession were offered cold water, juices, and other refreshments from the Sabeel, while the accompanying medical camp provided free health check-ups and medicines to ensure no participant faced discomfort in the intense weather conditions.
Er. Aijaz Hussain personally joined the volunteers in serving the mourners, interacting warmly with the community and reaffirming that such acts of service transcend politics—they are rooted in shared values of humanity, sacrifice, and unity.
The program was made possible through the active involvement of local BJP leaders. Constituency Vice President Mehraj-ud-Din, General Secretary Mohammad Hussain, Secretaries Gh. Mohammad Dar and Adil Ahmad, and other committed karyakartas ensured smooth execution and respectful conduct of the event.
This initiative marks the culmination of a week-long series of Sabeel and medical support drives undertaken by BJP Lal Chowk Constituency across various parts of Srinagar. Each day’s program was a testament to the party’s dedication to standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the people during occasions of spiritual and social significance.
On this sacred day of Ashura, the BJP team once again reaffirmed its belief in the principles of brotherhood, inclusive service, and respect for all religious traditions in the rich cultural fabric of Jammu & Kashmir.
