“The community has now collectively expressed the desire to extend the traditional route to include Chinkra Mohalla, citing both religious sentiments and historical precedent,” Sagar wrote, adding that local residents and religious organizations have assured complete discipline and cooperation.

The MLA further mentioned that a formal communication regarding the request has already been sent to the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir under letter No. MLA/HBL/SGR/328 dated July 1, 2025.

“I request your kind intervention and approval of the proposed route extension. The community stands ready to work in full coordination with the administration and law enforcement to ensure a smooth and peaceful procession,” Sagar added, urging the LG to consider the plea on humanitarian and religious grounds.
