Two Children Dead, One Rescued After Flash Flood in Rajouri

Rajouri, June 26 (JKNS): Two children lost their lives and another was rescued after a flash flood hit the Sialsui area of Kalakote tehsil in Rajouri district early Thursday morning.

An official told news agency JKNS that, “Three children were swept away in the sudden flash flood triggered by heavy rainfall. Sadly, two of them died on the spot, while one was rescued safely by locals and taken to a nearby medical facility.”

He added that a rescue team, along with police and locals, responded swiftly to the incident. “The administration is providing all necessary support to the bereaved families, and efforts are underway to assess the situation and ensure the safety of the area,” he said.

Authorities have urged residents living near water bodies and vulnerable spots to remain vigilant and take precautions during the ongoing rainy spell. (JKNS)
