Anantnag Police Attach Property of Notorious Drug Peddler Under NDPS Act

Anantnag, June 26 (JKNS): Anantnag Police have attached a single‑storey house belonging to notorious drug peddler Azad Ali Khan, son of Gull Ali Khan and a resident of Kehribal Ranbirpora, Mattan.

Police spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, Anantnag Police attached Property i,e Single story House of notorious drug peddler namely Azad Ali Khan S/O Gull Ali Khan R/O Kehribal Ranbirpora mattan under section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985, statement reads.

The said peddler is found involved in below mentioned NDPS cases, FIR NO 68/2013 US 8/20 NDPS ACT, FIR NO 82/2017 US 15/18 NDPS ACT, FIR NO 10/2022 US 8/15 NDPS ACT 48 excise act OF P/S Mattan, it reads.

Statement reads, The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of Investigation/Enquiry conducted by Mattan police. The property was prima facia accquired from illicit trafficking of Narcotic drugs and Psychotropic Substances by the owner.

The notorious drug peddler was Under detention at District jail Reasi Jammu under PIT-NDPS Act and has been released recently, it reads.

This operation reaffirms the commitment of Anantnag Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed the initiative of Anantnag Police with regard to the attachment of immoveable properties which has been raised/ used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddler in the District Anantnag, reads the statement. (JKNS)
