Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have ordered a preliminary inquiry after a video surfaced on social media showing a man with a bare upper body, being paraded with slippers and kept on the bonnet of a police vehicle in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bakshi Nagar.
According to an official order issued by Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS reads, the act by police personnel is deemed “unprofessional and unbecoming of members of a disciplined organization” and warrants stern departmental action.
The SSP has directed the SDPO City North, Jammu, to carry out a preliminary inquiry into the matter and submit the findings to his office within a week. The order also states that necessary departmental proceedings will be initiated based on the inquiry’s outcome.
Police have reiterated their commitment to maintaining discipline and professionalism within the force, ensuring accountability and upholding the highest standards of conduct. (JKNS)
