Budgam: Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat chaired a review meeting Sunday to assess the progress of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineer of KPDCL,all AEEs, JEEs and other concerned officers.
During the meeting, DC reviewed the number of registrations and applications received under the scheme, as well as the status of promotional and awareness activities.
The meeting was informed that as of June 20th 2025, applications received under the scheme are 10,420; vendors selected 1,218; SRT Systems Installed 211, Subsidies approved 183 and Subsidy approvals under process are 17 in the District.
Addressing the meeting, he emphasized the need for coordinated efforts by all officers and officials of line departments to adopt strategic approach and mobilise public participation to maximize the benefits of the scheme.
DC stressed on the importance of expediting the processes so that maximum population avails the benefits from the scheme.
He directed all stakeholders to work in union to achieve the targets set under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, thereby promoting sustainable energy solutions and reducing dependency on conventional power sources.
Besides, he directed all the officers from the PDD to set the targets and encourage the people to register and install the solar system to minimize their monthly electricity bills.
Bhat directed Exen KPDCL Budgam to establish the control room in his office to monitor the daily progress achieved under the scheme.
He also directed concerned to reach all the area of the district and organise camps to aware the people about the benefits of the scheme.
