Commissioner SMC conducts review meeting on Capex Budget Estimation for 2025–26

SRINAGAR: Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Faz Lul Haseeb, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to discuss the Capital Expenditure (Capex) budget estimation for the financial year 2025–26.

The meeting was attended by senior officials of SMC, with discussions centered on strategic planning, accurate project cost assessments, and effective project executions.

During the meeting, Commissioner emphasized that transparent and well-structured budgeting is essential for driving sustainable urban development and improving public service delivery.

He underscored the importance of cost accuracy, timely approvals, and seamless project execution, aligning infrastructure goals with the broader vision for a resilient and inclusive Srinagar.

Haseeb directed all departments/Wings of SMC to submit detailed and realistic cost estimates in the coming days to facilitate timely execution of projects. He also encouraged teams to explore innovative financing mechanisms and stressed the need for strong monitoring systems to ensure accountability and optimal use of public funds.

Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to citizen-centric governance, Commissioner noted that this review marks an important step toward building a smarter, more efficient, and sustainable Srinagar in the upcoming financial year.
