Budgam : Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, on Tuesday conducted an extensive tour of Charar-i-Sharief constituency in Budgam district.
The Speaker reviewed the progress on various ongoing developmental projects and had a first-hand appraisal of the pace and quality of work. He emphasized the importance of expediting the execution of these projects to ensure their timely completion.
As part of his outreach efforts, the Speaker held public interaction programmes at Kargoom and Palpora, where he met with the local residents and listened to their concerns and demands.
The locals expressed appreciation for the visit and raised issues related to infrastructure, public services and basic amenities.
The Speaker directed the concerned officers and departmental heads to ensure prompt service delivery and effective grievance redressal mechanism. He stressed the need for responsive governance that reaches the people at grassroots level.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker stated, “The government is committed to reach the people at their doorsteps. Along with the district administration, we aim to understand the needs of the community directly and work together to address them.”
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment towards inclusive development and citizen-centric governance, highlighting the importance of on-ground engagement for effective administration.
